The Chile Mocha will be rolled out on Tuesday, September 6th, but members of the company’s Rewards program will be able to try it as of Saturday, September 3rd.

In an attempt to add yet another fall staple, Starbucks has created a drink that might soon become your guilty pleasure – the Chile Mocha.

It is a bold drink for a bold coffee connoisseur.

For a final touch, it’s sprinkled with chile mocha, a combination of ancho and cayenne, chile pepper, cinnamon, paprika, sugar and a touch of sea salt.

Today notes that the drink is Starbucks’ most popular seasonal beverage ever, with more than 200 million sold since its introduction in 2003.

Chile Mocha will become available to Starbucks’ loyalty members on September 3 and officially be released to the public on September 6.

Starbucks Senior product developer Michelle Sundquist says her team tried to infuse the warmth and spice one associates with fall into the beverage. “We made a decision to take that idea in a new direction with chocolate and a bit of heat”.

In addition to the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s return, Starbucks is introducing a new kind of “spice” to their fall line-up.
