Rookies Elliott, Prescott lead Cowboys past 49ers 24-17

20 January 2013 Linebacker Na Vorro Bowman of the San Francisco 49ers stands during the National Anthem before the 49ers 28-24 victory over the Atlanta Falcons in the NFC Championship Game at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta GA

The game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. E.T. on FOX. The game can also be viewed on NFL Sunday Ticket or on NFL Mobile for Verizon subscribers.

The 49ers stormed out of the gates against the Dallas Cowboys on Sunday, but came crashing back down to earth in a 24-17 loss to their NFC East rival. The NFL Odds for the game have the Cowboys favored by a slim margin to pick up the victory on the road. That said, Bryant is a long shot at best to suit up against the 49ers.

“We were trying to get Wilhoite inolved”, Kelly said.

“He isn’t going to blink”, Butler said. I got speed. I can catch the ball with my hands.

Gabbert completed 16-of-23 pass attempts in the game for 196 yards with one touchdown and one interception.

– Prescott’s 131 passes without an interception to start a career are the most in National Football League history.

After a tight first quarter that ended 10-7 to the Bengals, Cincinnati never looked back.

What a great game for the reborn cornerback from LSU. We’ve got the fantasy projections courtesy of numberFire. We had a good defensive drive going, and a penalty happens so that kills the juice a little bit.

And just as it was with Prescott, the Cowboys other rookie had another nice game. Driskel was cut before the season.

Bryant didn’t practice Wednesday, three days after the receiver was hurt in a win over Chicago, and the same day he had the MRI that revealed the fracture.

Bryant was injured on a catch on the second play against the Bears when his leg bent awkwardly on the tackle.

Jones eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the first time this season, and Cousins finished 21 of 27 for 183 yards and also had an interception.

The 49ers owned a 14-0 lead early in the second quarter, but Dallas rallied for a 14-14 halftime tie. But he generally got high marks from Garrett. “That next guy has some big shoes to fill”. Already without Tony Romo, the Cowboys have still managed to average 25.7 points and 389.7 yards per game on offense this season. This year, the difference is even starker.

STAGNANT OFFENSE: After scoring TDs on their first two drives of the game, the 49ers offense stalled.

“That’s on me”, Gabbert said.

After converting on crucial plays earlier in the game, Gabbert would come up short on a fourth-and-six late in the fourth quarter to end their chances at a win. Dallas rookie running back Ezekiel Elliott picked up 96 of his 138 rushing yards in the second half, with 85 of those yards and his lone touchdown coming with Bowman off the field. It was fun to watch and just made me want to dance. “I’m definitely settling into the system”. Running back Carlos Hyde carried 15 times for 74 yards and a score.
