A RENOWNED gamer, who competed in professional Call of Duty for more than five years, died in his girlfriend’s arms after a horror smash.

Phillip Klemenov, known as PHiZZURP, lost control of his black Infiniti car which rolled several times before hitting trees and a light pole three minutes drive from their home in the city of Aurora in Colorado, according to Aurora Police News.

One of his passengers Marcelous (Marcelo) Johnson, who was married and had a son, was killed instantly. Klemenov died in his girlfriend Adrianna Lemus’s arms in hospital. Lemus, 18, was also in the car and suffered minor injuries.

Fifteen minutes after 24-year-old Klemenov, who was part of H2k-Gaming’s Call of Duty roster, died Lemus — with her arm in a sling — posted the news on her Twitter page, ESPN reported.

Klemenov competed in E Sports’ Call of Duty World League for H2k-Gaming and the team finished eighth in the North American leg of the world event last month, qualifying for the play-offs.

His total prize money from 26 tournaments was nearly $20,000, according to esportearnings.com.

“Today we lost a beloved H2K family member.” H2k-Gaming said in a statement. “Phillip ‘Phizzurp’ Klemenov passed away earlier today. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family, friends and all of those who were lucky enough to have him in their lives. Rest in peace Phil, we will always miss you.”

Lemus tweeted incessantly after her boyfriend’s death.

“I can only remember him as the greatest human being I have ever met and I told him that everyday. So many good memories he really changed me.

“I fell in love with you and I will never fall out of it.”

@PHiZZURP trended on Twitter with messages of condolence from teams, players, fans and others.

Almost $17,000 has been pledged in a gofundme page fundraiser set up by friend Tyler Johnson.

“Phill was a passionate player, streamer, and even a better friend. He was one of the most genuinely nice people I have ever encountered.

“He was always willing to help any of his friends without thinking twice. Out of anyone in the whole community Phill was the first person who gave me a chance without thinking twice and him being in my life was truly a blessing. Over the years alot of people looked up to him including myself and to see him gone is absolutely heartbreaking. I love you man.”

Aurora Police said investigations were continuing into the single-vehicle crash. Lemus denied on Twitter that her boyfriend had been drinking alcohol after police suspected alcohol and the speed of the car were factors for the accident.
