The vehicle was reported missing out of Santa Monica but authorities do not yet know if the auto was from a dealership or personal ownership.
A man was killed and his 8-year-old son injured in Culver City on Saturday when the driver of a stolen auto ran a red light while trying to evade police and plowed into another vehicle at a major intersection.
The underage driver of the vehicle, which police say was stolen, fled the scene on foot, as did three other occupants. Another person in the victim’s auto was taken to a hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said. All four suspects were quickly taken into custody and transported to local hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries sustained in the accident.
Washington Boulevard was closed in both directions between La Cienega Boulevard and Comey Avenue for the investigation, they said.
