Officers on Tuesday raided the European head quarter of cheap taxi service, Uber, during a criminal investigation of illegal taxi services.
It’s been reported that the investigation was carried out on the company’s UberPOP ride-hailing service, which offers much cheaper ride to the people as compared to the ordinary taxi ride.
Prosecutors said that ‘the company allows any person to be a ‘cab driver’ without examining their license or any sort of document, which is required before jumping in this cab business’.
He added that ‘this is against the rules and even not safe for the passengers – as police will have no registered identity about the driver’.
However, what happened after raid is still unclear.
