No. 3 Florida St. routs depleted Charleston Southern, 52-8

NASHVILLE TN- OCTOBER 11 Head coach Jamey Chadwell of the Charleston Southern Buccaneers looks on against the Vanderbilt Commodores in the first half of a game at Vanderbilt Stadium

Charleston Southern University will withhold 14 players from Saturday’s football game at Florida State.

Chadwell still has to serve a one-game suspension because of an assistant’s impermissible social media contact with a high school player.

Eight football players sat out games in each of the first two weeks of the season. Because many players ended up having money left over from their book stipend, Robinson claims book store employees advised them to purchase other goods and supplies since they would not receive any leftover funds from the stipend. Other items can not be covered by that financial aid. In a statement Friday, the university said it continues to work with the NCAA, the Big South and an outside consultant during the process.

A total of 31 Charleston Southern players will end up serving one-game suspensions for NCAA violations.

ESPN is reporting that an undetermined number of Charleston Southern football players will be suspended for Saturday’s game against Florida State. Four of the Bucs’ first five games are on the road as Charleston Southern gets a bye next week, then hits the road once again to face Monmouth on September 24.NOTES: Florida State K Ricky Aguayo, who broke the school record last week with six field goals against Ole Miss, drilled a 46-yarder in the fourth quarter in his only try to cap the scoring in Saturday’s win.

Charleston Southern University players posted their frustrations over missing a game on social media.

Junior offensive lineman Frank Cirone said this isn’t the first time he has been ineligible due to a school mix-up. “As for me, a guy who has been blessed to start 36 games, attend as many other athletic events and school events as time would allow, do countless hours of community service wearing CSU clothes, I’m bewildered at the lack of respect that the university is showing us athletes and student body as a whole”. “I told him during camp they (opponents) are going to stack the box and that is going to leave a mismatch somewhere”.

Florida State is turning the page to Charleston Southern, which won last week but could be down its top two quarterbacks Saturday.

“We didn’t want to focus on who we were playing we wanted to focus on how we were playing”, said Francois, who finished 25 of 32 including an interception.

After opening the 2016 campaign with a big-time comeback win over Ole Miss, Florida State has been handed an injury blow this week.

The Buccaneers bring a 1-1 record into Saturday’s game in Tallahassee.

This is a flat-out mess on multiple levels. and, just so you know, Charleston Southern and the #FreeTheBucs hashtag are four spots below Hillary Clinton in what is now trending on Twitter.
