An artists’ collective has taken credit for exposing US Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump to unflattering scrutiny, saying it is responsible for life-sized nude statues of the tycoon.
The group posted a video to YouTube showing how the statues were created and installed. They are the brainchild of an activist collective called INDECLINE, which has spoken out against Trump before. Some parts of her genitals are visible, while others seem to be missing.
People photograph a naked statue of US Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump that was left in Union Square Park in NY.
The New York City Department of Parks and Recreation later issued a playful statement explaining its decision.
A spokesman said in an email: “NYC Parks stands firmly against any unpermitted erection in city parks, no matter how small”. “Take his filthy feet too”, shouted one woman. “When he’s wearing clothes I don’t like him”.
They are removing it from one place to another after couple of days and making him popular all over the city with this naked statue. “Unlike the attempted caricaturization of Trump’s particular bits, this is no joke, but rather an expression of unmitigated contempt, and whatever else it does, it dissolves satirical intent in an instant”.
This isn’t the first time Mr Trump has appeared as a work of art. The collective also has spray-painted a U.S. -Mexico border fence in Tijuana, Mexico, with an image of a gagged Trump. Earlier this year, the same group covered the Hollywood Walk of Fame with the names of victims of police brutality.
One city that did remove the statue was New York City.
The life-size naked statue of the Republican presidential nominee went up in the morning at the corner of Castro and Market streets, near Jane Warner Plaza.
