We haven’t seen the last of Naked Trump.
The naked statue of Donald Trump that popped up in Los Feliz earlier this month is going up on the auction block.
Seattle was one of the cities graced with the statues.
The statue is one of a series that appeared unannounced in public spaces in New York, San Francisco, Seattle and OH in August.
“A portion of the proceeds from the sale will benefit the National Immigration Forum, one of the leading immigrant advocacy organizations in the country, with a mission to advocate for the value of immigrants and immigration to the nation”, the auction house said in a statement.
Many people went insane taking countless selfies next to the Trump statue that appeared in various cities, and now one of them is for sale to the public in an auction.
According to a press release from Julien’s Auctions, the Los Angeles-based auction house will auction the statute called “The Emperor Has No Balls”, estimated to be worth between $10,000 and $20,000. Most of the statues were confiscated by city authorities or destroyed.
The statue was placed in the 4600 block of Hollywood Boulevard in the Los Feliz area on August 18, drawing a flood of camera-wielding onlookers who snapped selfies with the unflattering effigy. “The explicit statue quickly became a symbol of political protest art”, CNBC quotes Julian’s Auctions as stating. He is due to give a speech on Wednesday as he seeks to find a balance in his immigration stance.
Mr Trump is not the only politician to be represented in the October auction of street and contemporary art. Artist Knowledge Bennett’s statue, called “Hillary Clinton Cojones”, is expected to go for $15,000 and shows the Democratic nominee looking dapper in a tuxedo.
