It has been widely speculated that the new iPad Mini 5 will be released alongside iPhone 7 and Apple Watch Series. The smartphone was launched at an Apple event last Wednesday together with the Apple Watch 2, and while fans were happy to see the new gadgets, there was no mention whatsoever of a new iPad model for this year. All are available in Silver and Space Grey variants, while the iPad Mini 4, iPad Air 2, 9.7-inch iPad Pro and 12.9-inch iPad Pro additionally come in Gold colour.
All other iPad models, such as the iPad Air 2, iPad Mini 4, and iPad Mini 2, had their base storage doubled from 16GB to 32GB.
Apple is marketing the iPad Pro as a laptop for people on the go. The iPad Air 2 and iPad Mini 4 doesn’t have a 16 GB storage anymore, but instead the storage was revamped and increased up to 32 GB as the minimum storage. Tech watchers have been especially curious as to what the iPad Pro 2 will be like, as the current version of the supersized tablet has been a best-seller since its release past year. Though Apple should still take heed as there are other sellers that sell the iPad Air 2 with bigger storage and wifi at a much cheaper price.
Several rumors point to the iPad Pro 2 release next month, along with the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, although there’s no news to corroborate this information. This and the introduction of larger handsets have made many ponder about the fate of Apple’s 7.9-inch tablet, the iPad mini. The iPad Mini 2 Wi-Fi only 32GB version costs Rs 21,900, while the Wi-Fi + Cellular 32GB version bears a price tag Rs 31,900. The higher storage models have also received some price cuts, including the 9.7-inch and 12.9-inch iPad Pro models. Similarly, the Wi-Fi + Cellular models cost Rs 41,900 (32GB) and Rs 49,900 (128GB). This gives the iPad mini lineup at least another year of longevity, and means all three models will also wok with Apple’s newest AirPods accessory.
The Apple iPad line-up with new storage options and pricing is now available to buy from Apple retail stores, the Apple website, and the Apple Store app.
