Mr. Three Stacks and Big Boi ran through a list of their hits at the ONE Musicfest in Atlanta on Saturday (September 10) as part of the Dungeon Family reunion that also brought together Goodie Mob (minus Khujo), Killer Mike, Sleepy Brown, Rico Wade, and other members of the Atlanta music collective. The group headlines the seventh annual ONE Musicfest on Saturday in Atlanta.
The get together marked the first time Big Boi and Andre 3000 had performed on stage together since they hit the road in 2014 for a festival tour.
The documentary features OutKast, Goodie Mob, Future, LaFace Records” LA Reid and more discussing the importance of the production trio to the rise of the south in the “90s and features footage from the early days of The Dungeon Family.
“It feels so good to be here with my brothers”, Big Boi told the sold-out crowd, while Andre 3000 stood beside him.
Rapper Witchdoctor of Goodie Mob believes the Dungeon Family has more fresh music to offer.
The idea for the Dungeon Family to reunite was sparked after the success of the Netflix documentary, “The Art of Organized Noize”.
“Those fit the Dungeon Family brand”, he said. The Dungeon Familys reunion performance at an upcoming music festival sparked a new initiative for the legendary hip-hop music collective: Create music for a concert. But he said rehearsals reminded everyone of their special bond. “When we started rehearsing, it all came together”. “Some of the guys can get paid a lot more if they did this on their own”.
