Following several requests from the Xbox community, developers Campo Santo have announced in a blog post that their acclaimed open-world adventure game Firewatch is coming to Xbox One on september 21.
Firewatch was an indie hit when it landed on PC back in February. Firewatch follows the story of Henry, a fire lookout who watches over Shoshone National Forest. However, at PAX West, developer Campo Santo revealed that along with the release, an update will be given for free across all platforms. The Xbox One version will get some extra feature not included in the previous PC or PlayStation 4 versions of the game.
More importantly for those who like to complete games 100%, this newest mode will let you find some “hidden secrets” along the way. The first one is an audio tour, which is described by the developers on their blog. You can expect more details soon. The first one from the two new modes that the update will pack is ‘Firewatch Audio Tour, ‘ which is apparently a commentary mode that is built into the game’s setting. One of my hopes is that your trusty disposable camera which you play around with in the main game will be free to use again in the “Free Roam” mode. Including what decisions Campo Santo made during the process of development of Firewatch.
When the Xbox One version ships, a new free-roam mode will launch alongside it.
