Just when we though the heartthrob couldn’t get any more irresistible, he opened up about his daughters in the most adorable way possible during the premiere of his upcoming film “La La Land” at the Toronto Film Festival on Monday.
Ryan Gosling sees a kindred spirit in Emma Stone. Both looked ever the fresh-faced movie stars, with Emma in a yellow shift dress with daisy appliqué, and Ryan sporting a navy patterned suit. The pair, who previously co-starred in the movies Crazy, Stupid, Love and Gangster Squad, had nothing but praise for each other in an interview with E!
“I like working with Emma because I think she’s secretly Canadian”, the London, Canada, native joked.
“We made two films together and now three, and so, you know, it’s great to work with people you know”, Gosling added. And so it’s great to work with people you know.
In La La Land, Gosling, 35, portrays a dedicated jazz musician named Sebastian who falls for aspiring actress Mia (Stone). “I think it’s their emotions and their behavior that really just carries an audience – even an audience that’s not really into musicals – through the movie. It’s no more exciting than that-or less exciting than that!”
Directed by Whiplash’s Damien Chazelle, La La Land follows a jazz pianist named Sebastian (played by Ryan) who falls in love with a handsome aspiring actress named Mia (played by Emma).
“I love the old Hollywood musicals, as you can see, but I really have a fondness for the French answers to those musicals”, Chazelle told the audience and a short question-and-answer session after the screening.
Yet, she added that “what Damien wrote is really attractive and nostalgic and sweet” and that it was “nice to be part of something that hopefully gives people joy”. “A lot’s been happening”. “The music just aids the story; it’s not the inverse”.
