Cops: College Student Caught Chewing on Victim’s Face

Abnormally strong teen allegedly stabbed to death US couple found biting face off victim at crime scene

A 19-year-old Florida State University student with no criminal record fatally stabbed a couple at random outside their house, wounded their neighbor and was biting the dead man’s face when deputies finally subdued him, authorities said Tuesday. It is unknown if Austin Harrouff has an attorney. Snyder said the neighbor is hospitalized with “substantial trauma”.

Forty-seven-year-old neighbor Jeff Fisher, who was also stabbed while trying to help, called police after hearing screams. She is fine, has no connection to Harrouff and did not recognize him when shown his photo, Snyder said.

The attack was random, Snyder said.

The man’s wife was also found stabbed; both have died.

Inside the garage deputies found “multiple weapons of opportunity” that were used to beat and slash the couple including a switchblade the suspect was known to carry.

“The suspect was on top of our victim, clutching him in a bear hug and biting him in the face”, Snyder said. Mishcon was found stabbed to death in that garage and Stevens in the driveway, with Harrouff delusional and clinging to him when deputies arrived.

The sheriff said at the press conference that Harrouff was “abnormally strong” during the alleged attack. When that didn’t work, multiple sheriffs as well as a K-9 attempted to pull him away with “as much force as physically possible”, according to Florida Today.

Tuesday Snyder said initial drug testing done on Harrouff came back negative but said investigators were digging deeper, working to obtain a warrant to examine Harrouff’s hair and blood for drugs that may not show up on first round tests.

Snyder said he wouldn’t be surprised if Harrouff had Flakka or bath salts in his system, but officials won’t know for sure until they get toxicology results from the hospital.

Harrouff had been out to dinner with his parents when he became upset about slow service and stormed out of the restaurant.

She said they would also drive around the neighbourhood in their golf buggy with the dog sitting with them. They would open their garage door and had a television and chairs outside. An autopsy on Stevens’ wife, Michelle Mishcon, is still pending. “They hang out in their garage and watch the dogs and talk to the neighbors”.

Michele Antoniewicz, who has lived on the street for 11 years, said there’s a mix of families with children and retirees. His parents were so anxious by his behavior that they called police and some of his fraternity brothers in a futile attempt to find him before the attack. He took Advanced Placement classes in the International Baccalaureate program at school. He was interested in playing football in college, according to his statement. Harrouff played defensive line and wrestled at the school before graduating in 2015.

A sophomore majoring in exercise science, Harrouff is muscular – rosters from Suncoast Community High School in nearby Riviera Beach listed him at 6-feet-tall and 200 pounds.

With Harrouff in custody and on his way to the hospital, investigators surveyed the grisly scene at the home in Jupiter, Fla. He is a student at Florida State University, authorities said. He belonged to the Phi Delta Alpha fraternity. The organization’s president referred questions to its national office in CT.
