It looks like Bette Midler’s upcoming revival of Hello, Dolly! is Broadway’s hottest new ticket!
Of the record-breaking news, Shubert Organization chairman Philip J. Smith and the organization’s president Robert E. Wankel said jointly in a statement, “We are thrilled with the tremendous response from ‘Hello, Dolly!’ ticket-buyers”.
The new Broadway production will be directed by four-time Tony Award victor Jerry Zaks and will begin performances on Broadway on 15 March in 2017. It was announced last week that alongside this leading duo will be Kate Baldwin, Gavin Creel, Jennifer Simard, Melanie Moore, and Will Burton, rounding out the production’s leading players. The show is one of three being produced by Rudin this season-the other two are “The Front Page” with Nathan Lane and John Goodman and “The Glass Menagerie” with Sally Field.
